Here are some things that are happening for international women’s day locally this year:
5th March – Million Women Rise march, London
If enough of us want to go to this we could go as a group. It would then be possible to buy a group train ticket, which makes it individually cheaper.If you’d be interested respond to this email or on facebook, we will be making banners the week before.

8th March – Radical Women. This is an event about Women in Politics and Brighton’s history of Radical Women. We have several speakers, including Caroline Lucas MP. It’s from 3.30 to 5 in The Friends Meeting House. There is a facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156014514454660
8th March – Feminist art group meeting. Cowley club from 7pm
8th March – Lewes bridge action in the afternoon/evening The event in Lewes will be filmed and photographed to add to the website as an example locally based action. They also have details of an action in Shoreham http://www.womenforwomen.org/bridge/attend-bridge-event.php
8th March – Feminist Art group meeting at the Cowley club.
8th March – There is also a benefit gig that night at the Albert pub in Brighton (on Trafalgar Street) raising money for International Women’s Day and child victims of war.

10th March – Oxfemme, 6.30-9.30 at the Friends Meeting House. Short films…Female choir… Dance workshop…Sari dressing… Interactive art… Oxfam info…Oxfam speaker plus Donette Kruger from Zimbabwe, author of ‘Zambezi wind song’.
There will be tables at this event where we could distibute flyers and talk to people about the group, so it would be good if a couple of us could go along, reply to this email if you are interested.
‘Wonderful Women Do Stand Up’ at the Marlborough Theatre at 7.30pm. Celebrating International Women’s Day and women and comedy.
